On December 11, 2020, AITISA held the First Meeting of Board of Directors and Meeting of General Assembly in 2020 online. At the meeting, a number of work and resolutions including annual work of AITISA were reported to all attendees and were adopted.
From December 7 to 11, 2020, the 75th Meeting of AVS Workgroup and the 13th of AI Standard Meeting of AITISA was held online.
From December 7 to 11, 2020, the 13th Meeting of AI Standards Workgroup of AITISA was successfully held online. A total of 121 representatives from 37 members attended the meeting.
At this meeting, AITISA designated Zhao Yang from Ehualu as leader of AI data lake group, Liu Hengzhi from Boya Hongtu and Song Jun from VIONVISION as co-leaders and Ji Wen from ICT as joint leader of digital retinal system task force.
At this meeting, 24 proposals (M1343~M1366) were received, including 8 demand proposals, 1 visual feature coding proposal, 9 AI instruction set and development interface proposals, 3 visual data privacy protection proposals and 3 digital retina proposals. After deliberation and discussion for 4 days, 34 documents (N1253~N1286) were output.
During the meeting, the neural network representation and model compression group received and reviewed 1 proposal and output 3 documents (N1263~N1265), including Neural Network Representation and Model Compression Convolutional Neural Network cd1.1 (N1264), and Collection of Proposals for Graph Neural Network Representation and Accelerated Model Compression V0.5 (N1265), and discussed the development of neural network representation model transformation and neural network compression open source software and the subsequent work of convolutional neural network representation. The visual feature coding group received and reviewed 1 proposal and output 6 documents (N1266~N1271), and planned to complete the preparation of materials for the project of visual feature coding standard before the 14th meeting. AI instruction set and development interface group received, reviewed and adopted 9 proposals, and output 9 documents (N1272~N1280).
AI data privacy protection group received and reviewed 3 proposals, adopted 2 proposals and output 2 documents (N1281 and N1282), including AI Visual Privacy Protection Part 2: Technical Application Guide WD2.0 (N1282). The digital retinal system task force received and reviewed 4 proposals, adopted 3 proposals and output 2 documents (N1283 and N1284), including Digital Retinal System Part 1: System Structure and Communication Protocol WD2.0 (N1284). The data lake application group received and reviewed 7 proposals, output 1 document (N1285) and discussed the work plan for standard preparation.

From December 2 to 3, 2020, AITISA hosted “OpenI/O 2020 Developer Conference”.
From December 2 to 3, 2020, AITISA hosted “OpenI/O 2020 Developer Conference” in China National Convention Center. With the theme of "OpenI dream, open source lead" and based on the open source environment and development trends at home and abroad, AITISA invited leading academicians of domestic AI open source and core members of OpenI community, such as Pengcheng Laboratory, Huawei, Baidu and MEGVII. Focusing on Huawei Ascend, Baidu PaddlePaddle, MEGVII MegEngine and other independently developed AI open source projects, AITISA set many open classes and practical classes to provide opportunities of learning, practical operation and skill improvement for developers.

On November 10, 2020, AITISA released the notice for group standard approval【2020 No. 4】 to approve 3 group standards, i.e. AI Operator Interface Part 1: Basic Mathematical Operation, AI Operator Interface Part 2: Neural Network Operation and AI Visual Privacy Protection Part 2: Technical Application Guide.
On September 10, 2020, Ministry of Science and Technology project led by AITISA was approved.
On September 10, 2020, the open source community project of Ministry of Science and Technology led by AITISA, i.e. Technological Innovation 2030 - Major Project of “a new generation of artificial intelligence”- a new generation of artificial intelligence open source community and evaluation project, was approved.
From August 24 to 28, 2020, the 74th Meeting of AVS Workgroup and the 12th AI Standard Meeting of AITISA was held online.
From August 24 to 28, 2020, the 74th Meeting of AVS Workgroup was successfully held online. A total of 204 representatives from 53 members attended the meeting. At the meeting, AVS workgroup received 232 proposals (M5540~M5771), including 5 demand proposals, 13 system proposals, 157 video proposals, 3 audio proposals, 4 gene compression proposals, 40 point cloud proposals, 4 quality evaluation proposals, 0 test proposals and 11 implementation proposals, including 4 joint proposals. After deliberation and discussion for 4 days, 56 documents (N2899~N2954) were output.
At the same time, the 12th Meeting of AI Standards Workgroup of AITISA was successfully held online. A total of 106 representatives from 27 members attended the meeting.
At the meeting, AI Standards Workgroup received 30 proposals (M1312~M1341), including 2 neural network representation and compression proposals, 12 visual feature coding proposals, 8 AI instruction set and development interface proposals, 5 visual data privacy protection proposals and 3 digital retina proposals. After deliberation and discussion for 4 days, 25 documents (N1228~N1252) were output. At the meeting, following specifications and procedures were output, such as Code for Preparation of AITISA Group Standard (N1232) and Preparation Stage and Process of AITISA Group Standard (N1233).

From August 14 to 16, 2020, AITISA hosted AIExpo2020.
From August 14 to 16, 2020, AITISA hosted AIExpo2020. AIExpo2020 showed the enterprise strength relying on 20,000m2 exhibition area in an all round way. More than 200 well-known enterprises in the industry participated in the exhibition, and displayed more than 1000 AI products and innovative solutions. AIExpo2020 attracted more than 1 million visitors online and offline.

From June 8 to 12, 2020, the 73rd Meeting of AVS Workgroupand the 11th AI Standard Meeting of AITISA was held online.
From June 8 to 12, 2020, the 73rd Meeting of AVS Workgroup was successfully held online. A total of 230 representatives from 54 members attended the meeting. At the meeting, AVS workgroup received 221 proposals (M5287~M5507), including 5 demand proposals, 11 system proposals, 148 video proposals, 5 audio proposals, 4 gene compression proposals, 43 point cloud proposals, 6 quality evaluation proposals, 1 test proposals and 5 implementation proposals, including 5 joint proposals. After deliberation and discussion for 4 days, 51 documents (N2847~N2897) were output.
At the same time, the 11th Meeting of AI Standards Workgroup of AITISA was successfully held online. A total of 106 representatives from 30 members attended the meeting. At the meeting, Liu Xiulong was designated as the co-leader of data privacy protection group and Zhao Yang was designated as convener of data lake application. At this meeting, AITISA received 52 proposals (M1252~M1304), including 6 demand proposals, 21 neural network representation and compression proposals, 7 visual feature coding proposals, 10 AI instruction set and development interface proposals, 6 visual data privacy protection proposals and 3 digital retina proposals, including 1 joint proposal. Through review and discussion, 28 documents (N1198~N1225) were output.

On May 13, 2020, AVS3 video group standard was released.
On May 13, 2020, Zhongguancun Audio and Video Industry Standard Innovation Alliance released a notice to formally approve the group standard T/AI 109.2-2020 Information Technology Intelligent Media Coding-Part 2: Video. The standard was implemented since that day.
The standard is applicable to the decoding process of efficient video compression methods with various bit rates, resolutions and quality requirements, and has obvious advantages in decoding efficiency. It can be widely used in TV broadcasting, digital film, network TV, network video, video monitoring, real-time communication, instant communication, digital storage media, still image and so on.

From March 31 to April 3, 2020, the 72nd Meeting of AVS Workgroup was successfully held online. A total of 182 representatives from 45 members attended the meeting. A total of 151 proposals (M5135~M5285) were received, and 60 output documents (N2787~N2846) were formed after deliberation and discussion in the 4-day meeting. At the meeting, the selection result of the 2019 AVS Industrial Technology Innovation Award was announced. Shanghai Hisilicon Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing ByteDance Network Technology Co., Ltd., AVS3 open source coder R&D team of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, AVS2 audio project group and many other teams won the group award. At the same time, the 10th standard meeting of AITISA was successfully held online. A total of 131 representatives from 42 members attended the meeting. A total of 51 proposals (M1195~M1246) were received, and 28 output documents (N1168~N1195) were formed after deliberation and discussion in the 4-day meeting. On January 1, 2020, CCTV 13 standard definition channel formally played the program in AVS+ standard HD way.
On that day, China DTV Media Inc., Ltd. released Letter on Digital Paid China Media Group Channels Transferring from Standard Definition to High Definition. The letter showed that upon the approval of National Radio and Television Administration, 13 digital paid China Media Group channels would adopt high definition way since 4am on January 1, 2020, i.e. First Theatre, Fengyun Theatre, Huaijiu Theatre, Fengyun Music, World Geography, Fashion, Cultural Boutique, Billiards, Football, Golf • Tennis, Weapon Technology, Health and Hygiene and TV Guide. The coding mode was AVS+.
